Campaign Manager

The Clarion Media Group—which includes The Daily Dot, the leading internet culture publication, the acclaimed science magazine Nautilus, and the Phire influencer network—is seeking a campaign manager to oversee digital paid and email marketing. This position is primarily responsible for developing strategies for marketing campaigns and executing those strategies. This position collaborates with the editorial, agency, and tech teams and reports to the Director of Marketing and Audience Development.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Executes and reports on overall paid digital & email marketing strategy
  • Owns marketing execution across paid digital and email channels – creating, executing, measuring, reporting and optimizing email marketing campaigns
  • Responsible for working with agency teams to complete all tasks associated with paid & email campaigns including, copywriting and content creation (e.g., graphics), managing and editing templates and formats, creating and editing landing pages and workflows, and the overall management of segmented lists and targeted audiences (both send and suppression)
  • Works with the team to ensure that the campaigns meet KPI benchmarks
  • Implements A/B and multivariate testing to improve performance
  • Reports on campaign performance
  • Creates various segmentation lists & target audiences
  • Updates and presents reports on a weekly basis
  • Develops documentation and road maps for processes, A/B tests, and promotions that succeed through all channels

What We’re Looking For

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • You have a proven track record developing, maintaining, and analyzing digital and email marketing initiatives across several key platforms/mediums
  • You have experience in the customary journey/funnel
  • You have experience writing promotions or offers
  • You understand digital media trends
  • You’re a Google Analytics master
  • You’re a ad platform expert (especially Google AdWords and Facebook)
  • You know your way around ESPs (SailThru a plus!)
  • You have experience with landing page design and administration
  • You have experience in several aspects of digital marketing, including:
    • Audience segmentation and market research
    • Opt-in forms, email distribution, and push notifications
    • Data analysis and experimentation
    • A/B testing
  • You are well-versed in established social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Flipboard, Reddit) and keep up-to-date on emerging ones (e.g., TikTok)
  • You’re comfortable and confident working as a part of a virtual team
  • You’re skilled in multitasking and prioritizing in a rapidly changing environment
